In 1953 I bought a Bolex non reflex camera and then made a film. Later I sold the film to BBC Television and I have never looked back. Do not knock non reflex cameras, many a good film has been shot on them.

The Miller tripod heads had to be wrapped up against the cold, anything to keep them warm, the original grease for the fluid action went hard in cold weather.


In Scotland shooting my first freelance item for BBC Television ' Sport View ' I carried a heavy Newman Sinclair camera up the mountain, part of the Cairngorms. There is a story that goes with the picture, oh what a story but unfortunately too long for this web site.
